Ingredients for Pinwheel Cookie Recipe
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup white sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 egg yolk
2 tablespoos milk
1 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 (1 ounce) unsweetened chocolate, melted
2 tablespoons hot milk
Directions for Pinwheel Cookie Recipe
- Use a large bowl to mix together the shortening, egg yolk, vanilla, sugar, and 1 tablespoon milk
- Add in the flour, salt, and baking powder, mix well
- Remove half of the cookie dough and add in the the chocolate and other tablespoon of milk
- Refrigerate for 1-2 hours
- Turn oven on to 375
- Roll each part of the cookie dough into 10X12 rectangle
- Coat the chocolate mixture with the hot milk and add the other lather on top
- Roll the dough together and out like a jelly roll
- Slice into thin pinwheels
- Bake for 8-10 minutes
